If you have ever ordered a foundation online and received something three shades too light, you are not alone. Shade matching has always been harder for Indian skin tones — because most tools were trained on, tested on, and designed for a different range entirely.
HerShade is built differently. We mapped the full spectrum of Indian skin tones — from very light to very deep — across warm, cool, neutral, and olive undertones. Every product in our catalogue is tagged by depth and undertone, not just by a shade name that means nothing without context.

Built by someone who felt this problem firsthand.
I have loved makeup since before I knew how to use it. Even a quick trip to the market meant at least a lipstick — that was non-negotiable.
But for years, I had no idea which products actually suited me. During engineering college, I would try my friends’ foundations and concealers — and they simply would not work on my skin. The same happened to them with mine. We had completely different skin tones and no way to figure out what was right for each of us.
That problem followed me into my IT career. I was showing up polished and put-together, but still guessing at every product. It felt like the beauty industry had decided that shades like mine were an afterthought.
HerShade is the tool I wish I had back then. My co-founder and I built it so no one has to keep guessing.
