HerShade does not sell your data. Ever.

When you upload a selfie for shade matching, your image is used only to detect your skin tone depth and undertone. It is not stored permanently, shared with third parties, or used for any other purpose.

When you use the manual profile flow, the answers you provide are used only to generate your recommendations. We do not link this to any personal identity.

We may use anonymised, aggregated data — such as which skin tone depths are most common among our users — to improve our recommendation engine. This data cannot be traced back to any individual.

We use product analytics (PostHog and Google Analytics) to understand how people use HerShade. This includes anonymised event tracking and session replay — recordings of how users navigate the site, with all form inputs (email, feedback text, and similar fields) automatically masked. We do not record passwords or payment details. We use this only to find UX issues and improve the product.
